MVN Engineering Services provided a complete mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design for a 5,500 sq. ft. car wash and convenience store combined with a 2,300 sq. ft. commercial laundry area. The project required careful coordination of systems to ensure operational reliability, customer comfort, and compliance with industry standards, while addressing the unique demands of both retail and laundry operations.
Mechanical Design
The C‑store air conditioning system was served by existing rooftop units, while new kitchen exhaust and a makeup air unit were installed to maintain ventilation and comfort. The laundry area was equipped with a dedicated rooftop unit for air conditioning, supported by specialized calculations for exhaust and makeup air requirements to handle the high‑intensity operations of 25 washers. Intake air was provided through a louver wall fitted with a barometric damper, and laundry exhaust was terminated at the roof to ensure proper discharge and compliance.
Electrical Design
The kitchen was supported by a grease interceptor located outside the building, designed to meet environmental and operational standards. A gas‑fired water heater was installed to provide reliable hot water service. Special calculations and utility provisions were engineered to support the 25 washers in the laundry room, ensuring efficiency and durability in high‑demand conditions.
Plumbing Design
Electrical systems were designed to meet the diverse needs of the C‑store, laundry, and car wash operations. Kitchen areas were equipped with GFI outlets for safety, while power distribution was extended to laundry equipment and car wash systems. Outlets were installed throughout in compliance with code, ensuring dependable service across all operational zones.
